1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site operators.
Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).
2. Our Approach to Cookies
Panthero is a cybersecurity platform built on the principle of privacy by design. We practice what we preach:
- We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary for the Platform to function securely.
- We do not use any third-party tracking cookies.
- We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting pixels.
- We do not use third-party analytics services (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no similar tools).
- Our Content Security Policy (CSP) enforces this at the technical level - external scripts and tracking resources are blocked by the server, not just by policy.
Because all of our cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the Platform, we do not display a cookie consent banner. Under GDPR (Recital 32) and the ePrivacy Directive (Art. 5(3)), consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary for the service explicitly requested by the user.
3. Cookies We Use
The following table lists every cookie set by panthe.ro:
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Maintains your authenticated session after login. Without this cookie, you would need to re-enter your credentials on every page. This cookie is only set when you log in to your Account. | Session management (strictly necessary) | 2 weeks (persistent). Deleted when you log out. |
csrftoken |
Protects against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. This cookie ensures that form submissions and state-changing requests originate from panthe.ro and not from a malicious third-party site. It is a security measure, not a tracking mechanism. | Security (strictly necessary) | 1 year (persistent). |
messages |
Temporarily stores system notifications (for example, "Your message has been sent") so they can be displayed on the next page load. Contains no personal data. | Functionality (strictly necessary) | Session. Deleted when you close your browser. |
That is the complete list. We set no other cookies.
4. Cookies We Do Not Use
For clarity, here is what we explicitly do not use:
- Analytics cookies: We do not use Google Analytics, Matomo, Plausible, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or any other analytics platform that sets cookies on your device.
- Advertising cookies: We do not use Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other advertising or retargeting technology.
- Social media cookies: We do not embed social media widgets (Facebook Like buttons, Twitter embeds, etc.) that set third-party cookies.
- Fingerprinting: We do not use browser fingerprinting or any other technique designed to identify your device across sessions without cookies.
Our server-level Content Security Policy (CSP) blocks the loading of scripts and resources from external domains, making it technically impossible for third-party trackers to execute on panthe.ro even if they were somehow injected into our pages.
5. Managing and Disabling Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual cookies or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites or from all sites
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set
Impact of disabling cookies on panthe.ro:
- If you block the
sessionidcookie, you will not be able to log in to your Account. Free Tools and public pages will continue to work. - If you block the
csrftokencookie, form submissions (including Free Tool lookups and the contact form) will fail because the server cannot verify that the request originated from panthe.ro. - If you block the
messagescookie, system notifications (confirmation messages after form submissions) will not display. All other functionality remains unaffected.
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, disabling them will impair the functionality of the Platform rather than merely reducing tracking - because there is no tracking to reduce.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new cookies or change the purpose of existing cookies, we will update this Cookie Policy and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify registered Users by email.
